I'm a SLACKER.....

I have been the biggest slacker ever when it comes to my blog. I kept meaning to catch it up and as you can see that is not going to happen. This is the last few months in a nut shell....

Been a while...

Just so you know... I was told by Jaime not to post anything to the blog until she has had a chance to catch up on a ton of posts that she has fallen behind on... thus the 3 and a half months of "Absolutely Nothing!!!" Just wanted you all to know that we are all still alive and healthy... well... I may not be after Jaime reads this...

WICKED

Wednesday was a special girls night out. We all met up and went to dinner at Olive Garden. Then we headed to Gammage to see WICKED!! Oh my goodness...it so was FABULOUS! I had never seen it, and I am so glad I was able to go. Thanks Mom! I could not have loved it more. If you ever have the opportunity to go.....JUMP ON IT! You will not be sorry!

Bowling

Last week Brent and I went on a double date with Scott and Vanessa. We went to dinner, bowling, and then played some games at Dave and Buster's. We had a blast. It is so nice to get out and have some fun with other adults.

I took a picture of the scoreboard because I actually won! Holy Cow! I happened to be married to someone that is competitive and coordinated. In my world it is really rare for me to beat him at something. We work pretty well together because I am not competitive and I am a pretty good looser. Anyways, whenever I happen to win I get pretty excited. Yeah Me! In Brent's defense he couldn't find a ball that him thumb would fit in so he bowled without putting his fingers in the holes. He usually bowls much better. But I am still going to take this opportunity to gloat:)

Parade

The entire Jarman group goes to the Showlow parade. The kids collect candy and everyone is decked out in their Red White and Blue of course.

Pinedale

Every year when we are up North for the 4th we spend time with Brent's Grandma and all of his aunts, uncles, and cousins. This year we snapped a picture of Grandma, her grand kids, and great-grand kids. Well the one's that were there. There is lots of kids that are missing from the picture. Brent's Great-Great-Grandfather established Pinedale in 1879. This house was built in the 1930's by his great grandfather Niels Andrew Petersen. Every year since before Brent was born the entire family comes up for the 4th of July festivities. It is so nice for our kids to be able to play with all their cousins. These are such fun memories.

Cabin Trip

Every year for the 4th of July we all head up to Mark and Jaymi's cabin to spend several days together. We had a fun week of:

Ethan and Kensley made this little fire pit. They even had tools to protect us from any bears.

Brooke, Jaymi, and Lizeth cooking some yummy food. We end up spending lots of time in the kitchen. The kids love quad rides with Daddy. They even went on a ride up to the tower and about half way there it started pouring rain. They came back totally soaked, but they had a blast. It was Brent's favorite part of the whole trip.

Brent and Mark got up super early one day to meet their dad for a fishing trip. This is not my idea of a good time but they had a great time. They each caught a couple.

I was washing laundry and Ethan picked up a pair of Brent's fruit of the loom underwear that he wears when he swims. They happen to look just like some of Ethan's.

Me: Lots of laughing.....no Ethan those are Daddy's
Ethan: Oh OK that's crazy we have the same one's

Swimming with the Family

We went to Grandpa Jarman's house for a Swim Party the day after Father's Day, and had a BBQ. All the kids love any get together that involves swimming. Mark and his girls, Brooke and Wayne and their kids, and Jaime and myself and our bunch were there. Spencer was somehow under the illusion that spending quality time at home doing homework would be more fulfilling and life enrichening. Silly Wabbit...Homework is for KIDS...
Thanks to my dad's wonderful solar cover, the pool was almost like a sauna, and was great for those who love HOT water.... Brooke, I'm pretty sure that you're alone there.

Ethan and Landon couldn't get enough of the slide. Their little butts are so small, they could actually go down it together. All of the kids loved the slide.

I still don't know why I never joined the diving team... look at that form... oh yeah, that's why.

Kaleb is my fearless swimmer. I had to pull him out of the water I don't know how many times because he was... um.... DROWNING. Apparently, he doesn't find it important to put on his floatation suit or to breath when it comes in the way of having a good time in the water. Even when I pulled him out of the water, he still had a smile on his face as he was yacking and spitting out water. We'll have to keep an eye on this one.

This is the first year that Ethan and Allie are swimming floaty-free. Apparently their swim lessons have paid off, and now they are swimming like little fishies... Good Job guys!

Rylie can't get enough of the pool. She just loves sticking her tongue in it and drinking the water. How can you help but not squeeze those fat little cheekies. Such a cutie-pa-tootie!

Family Olympics

This year was the Third AnnualPerson's Family Olympics at Lake Roosevelt. The games last for three of the days that we are at the lake. Each family (The Alans "Purple Pirates", The Brian's "Team Beep", and The Dale's "Wake Snakes") comes with 3 of their own events, explains them with the rest of the teams, and then the events take place. Grandma Persons and Aunt Jean were the officials responsible for making those "close and arguable" calls and tallying all the points. In the end, Team Beep barely edged us out and walked away with the coveted "Diego Trophy". They'd better be prepared as the Wake Snakes will be returning next year with a whole arsenal of wicked skills, ready to reclaim our destined possesion.
This year we had each team design their own Olympic Uniforms and Team Flag.

This is during the "Passing of the Torch" ceremony.

One of the events included a Team Relay Race. Scotty returned from his mission just in time to help us out with his much needed skills.

Another was the "2 and a half foot" sling shot event. I'm not even exagerating either. You could practically touch the targets, but couldn't get that ball to fly straight if your life depended on it. I think next year we'll have to move the line closer so that some of us even have a chance.

Then there was the Missle Throw. The little kids seemed to do better at this one than the adults.

Other events not show included waterballoon relays, hoola-hoop tosses, spongey-ball-between-the-knees races, and a few others that I can't remember. All in all, everyone had a blast. The only downfall is that we have to wait another year to do it all again.
