Relaxing at Roosevelt Lake

Every year, the entire Persons family heads up to the lake to enjoy some fun family time. We all look forward to this trip all year long. It is SO MUCH FUN!!! We always get an early start on the water. Everyone gets to ski, wake board, tube, and swim. We are usually done on the water everyday by 11am. Which leaves us lots of time to relax, have an ice cream cone and play games. We stay in gated SRP housing. It is really enjoyable when you can hang out in the ac and take showers. There are about ten houses there and only SRP employees can reserve them. Our family rent's 3 of the houses. One for the "Alan's", one for us...the "Dale's", and one for the "Brian's" and my grandparents. The little compound has a small store and a recreation hall. Good Times!

Ethan's Grandma and Papa bought him a fishing pole after he got up on ski's. He wanted to try it out, so Brent walked him down to the cove to see what they could catch. They caught two little one's and threw them back.

Ethan played a little pool with Grandma and Uncle Scott. I always love spending time at the lake with all my family. I feel pretty lucky that we can all still spend this time together and have fun!

2 Years.......Finally

Monday June 15th
My little brother Scott has been serving his mission in Canada Toronto West. My parents were able to go and pick him up. They traveled around and met people that Scott was able to baptize. I am so glad that Scott made the choice to serve a mission. It is CRAZY how much he has grown up and learned. He is sort of frozen time for me kind of like this....

Now don't get me wrong his "personality" is still the same. He his still the same old Scotty that I know and love. It is so neat to see how strong his testimony is. As you can see he has really grown up in more ways than one.

Loni and I were already up at Lake Roosevelt for our family lake trip. We got up on Monday morning and laked in the morning and then drove back down to pick them up from the airport. Since all the Persons were at the lake too they weren't at the airport. Jennifer was able to be there with her kids. We patiently waited with all our signs. OK maybe it wasn't very patient but he finally arrived. YEAH! We couldn't be happier. It was a race to the stake center to get released...home to see the new house...get a new car(SURPRISE)....pack a bag....and head back to the lake. It is wearing me out just to think about it. When we got back to the lake everyone had waited up and hung signs everywhere. Scott we are so glad that you are home. Thanks for being such a good example to our kids!

Nothing like a "Cheap" trip to Vegas

This past week we went to Vegas: Mark, Jaymi, Spencer, Lizeth, Brooke, Wayne, Jaime, and Myself. It was the first time for me. I know...hard to believe. I had a hard time changing plans from Havasupai toVegas, since I had been planning and looking forward to the Grand Canyon all year. But I was told it would be...and I quote, "SOOO FUN!!! and super Cheap, too." Needless to say, I looked all over for Cheap in Vegas, but we seemed to avoid each other the whole time I was there. It would make sense (and maybe be a little easier) to say that I blew a thousand bucks in a weekend in Vegas gambling... but I never touched a slot, believe it or not, but a thousand bucks still disappeared from my pocket. Other than it being... and let me correct you Brooke (oops, no names)... a NOT so cheap weekend, there was alot to see, and a lot of walking. Let me repeat... alot of walking. I was so glad that we had somehow planned to see everything in Vegas in a single weekend. My feet are still thanking me for that. There were a lot of fun places and shows we got to see, such as The Blue Man Group and Variety show. Spencer was even the lucky one in the bunch to get called on stage and dressed up like an old woman to participate in one of the skits. All in all, it was a nice getaway from work. However, it wasn't very relaxing, to say the least. Next time we'll have to book a cruise.

Brooke and "undercover" Wayne at an underground bar. Wayne bought these specs at a truck station half way to Vegas and was so proud of them. He sported them the whole trip. Actually, we could have spent a little more time in Vegas had he not been wearing them at night while he was driving, causing him to miss the turnoff to Vegas, and causing us to wait for him to turn around and catch back up. Doesn't he kind of remind you of Johnny Knoxville?

Allie is headed for Kindergarten

May 21st

Allie has loved preschool this year. She had class 4 mornings a week. She can't wait to start kindergarten in the fall. This year Jaymi did such a great job getting Allie ready for school.

May19th

Ethan had kindergarten graduation. They divided kindergarten up so that only two classes graduated at a time. It was really nice to not have quite as many people there. They all had a cap and gown which I thought was really neat. His diploma came with a really nice graduation picture. They also did a slide show of the year. Ethan LOVED school this year. I am really grateful that he had such a great teacher.

Toothless

May19th

Ethan has been so patient waiting to loose his first tooth. It is about time . When I looked in his mouth the adult tooth is half in. I was glad that he got it out or else I was going to have to take him to see Uncle Alan to have it pulled. He was so excited once it was out. That night he stuck it under his pillow waiting for the tooth fairy to come. OOPS, the tooth fairy must of forgot to stop by. The tooth had fallen on the ground so I told Ethan that she probably missed it. The tooth fairy needs to get it together. No worries, she came the next night!

He has changed so much, and definitely grown up a lot. He gives me a run for my money most of the time, but when he smiles and gives loves it totally melts my heart. He has lots of favorite things: Anything green

Slip and Slide Anyone???

May 15th

Jaymi dropped off Kaytlyn and Kayley for a couple of hours because she had somewhere she need to go. They brought their swimsuits and everyone had a blast on the slip and slide. It doesn't take much to entertain these kids for hours. The slip in slide is definitely worth its weight in gold. Anything that entertains your kids for hours and only costs $20 is my I idea of a good time. Thanks for coming to play.

One Year already!

April 30th

Rylie was born one year ago. Wow how time flies. She was 7lbs 9oz and 22inches long. When she came home she was doing good. She was starting to gain weight. The doctors were concerned that she was too jaundice and they decided that she needed to go back in the hospital and spend a couple of days sun bathing under the lights. Once her count was down she was able to come back home. YEAH! That stay in the hospital threw off her eating schedule. I couldn't seem to get her back on track. I was getting really worried about her. When she was 5 weeks old I decided to take her in and talk to the doctor. They were instantly worried because the scale said that she was a pound less then her birth weight. They decided that she needed to be admitted to the hospital ASAP. We went straight to St Joe's. Over six days time we saw so many doctors and specialists. They gave her an iv to rehydrate her. Brent and my brother in law Wayne were able to give her a blessing which I am so grateful for. The doctors never found anything major wrong. Thank goodness! She turned it all around and then we were able to take her back home. As you can see from her pictures, she no longer has a problem eating. I am so glad that Rylie is a part of our family. We have all enjoyed her so much. This year has flown by! We love you Rylie....Happy birthday!

For the love...

Ever have one of those nights where you just can't fall asleep and no matter how you toss and turn, you just can't get comfortable? Then, you suddenly realize it is because half of your body is dangling off the side of the bed, being violently kicked in the back in an effort to remove you from the premesis of peace and comfort. This has been happening quite alot lately... Welcome to my world.

It's nice to see that "they" all got a good night's rest. And, oh yeah, just to clarify, that's 3 heads sharing my 1 pillow (actually, I think mine is just leaning against the side...). FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY.....

I could have sworn that they were all tucked in their own beds before I went to sleep. I might have to start sleeping in my closet.
